The American Goal ...            a message I received in poetry                                       Lance Zeaman
The shock of the attacks on the World Trade Center, Pentagon and downing of the fourth airliner had a powerful effect on the minds of everyone around the world. People reacted in many creative ways to express their inner most feelings.  I have never written a poem before, nor have I ever thought of writing one. However, when a business acquaintance informed me of the extreme loss of life suffered by his company, Marsh & McLennan plus his many co-workers and friends who perished, it left me deeply moved. Thereafter, the words of this poem came to me very easily and all at once. I felt as though I was receiving message. Therefore, I truly believe that this poem is the result of a deep spiritual experience that I’m very grateful for, as it has renewed my faith. I hope this poem will do the same for you!  The popular phase, “TheAmerican Dream”, is what we would all like to achieve as individuals. Now we need to add another popular phrase along side it, which is the title of this poem  “The American Goal”. This is what we need to achieve together! Thank you!
