The Third Annual “At The Shore” Press of Atlantic City
         Concierge Challenge Top 10 Winners


Atlantic City, NJ, April 28, 2009 --The Greater Atlantic City Concierge Association

(GACCA) produced their Third Annual “At The Shore” Concierge Challenge, Monday,

April 27th at The Hard Rock Café located in the Trump Taj Mahal casino. Over 60

people participated in the challenge, which consisted of a series of 34 questions (recent

and historical) about the Atlantic City region and the state of New Jersey.


Over $7,000 in prizes were awarded -- donated by local casinos, hotels, retail stores, restaurants and attractions. Mary Beth DiClemente of the Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority took first prize, Kristen Devine of the Borgata placed second, and Lee Karlock also of the Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority took third place.

The other top winners were – Bonnie Moore of the Sheraton, Robert Gabrielsky of Celebrity Resorts , John Battista of Carisbrooke Inn, Amy Hess of the Hard Rock Café, Kim Richardson of ACCC and MaryAnne Dougherty & Ellen Cohen…from the ACC&VA.

The ten winners will be honored at a dinner at Morton’s The Steakhouse in Caesars Atlantic City in May, 2009.

Five Atlantic City attractions exhibited at the Concierge Challenge, they included – Absecon Lighthouse, Atlantic City Trolley Tours, Harbor Pines Golf Club, Lucy the Elephant and Steel Pier.

According to Doreen Prinzo, president of the Greater Atlantic City Concierge Association, “We wanted to create a fun event to bring information counselors, front desk employees and concierges together, and we also wanted to point out some areas that many of our members may not be familiar with. This turned into the perfect vehicle to do that, thanks to the businesses that got behind it and provided over $7,000 worth of prizes. We’re already looking forward to next year’s event.”

Members of the Atlantic City Hotel Lodging Association saw a need to bring together the Concierge community and thus helped found the GACCA. The primary purpose of the GACCA is to promote high professional standards in the hospitality community. Additional goals are to foster a better understanding of the concierge profession, improve front line skills, and create a network of contacts to better service visitor to Atlantic City.
